We were delighted to hold the grand opening ceremony of our refurbished new wing of the sixth form, Southmoor House. The opening was conducted by Dr. Peter Claus, fellow at Oxford University and founder of OxNet, of which we are the North East Hub.
As part of the celebrations, we invited Sixth Form students and current participants of our Scholars programme, as well as some of last year’s scholar’s alumni to take part in special lectures in the new facility. We also welcomed teachers from across the North East to a virtual launch of OxNet’s brand new subject strand – the City through History. This is being delivered by the History team at Durham University, headed by Professor Justin Willis and Dr Markian Prokopovyc.
