Before the Easter holidays, our Medigroup got underway for year 12 students, kicking off with a visit from Newcastle University medical school. This session introduced students to the medical programme at Newcastle and the range of different programmes across the UK. Ashleigh, from Newcastle Uni, also discussed the applications process for Medicine, which is very different from that of other subjects. Students left more aware of UCAT exams, interviews and medical work experience placements, and their importance.
Medigroup is now meeting every Wednesday afternoon until the end of the year. This group, for aspiring doctors, dentists and vets, has 6 students this year who all hope to pursue their careers at universities across the UK, in 2025.
