Over the past three weeks two of our Year 12 students, Grace and Ethan, have been participating in the Lessons from Auschwitz programme. This programme is run by the Holocaust Education Trust and aims to educate young people about the events of the Holocaust and its impact on the world.
Grace and Ethan had the opportunity to meet a Holocaust survivor and hear of her experiences, as well as to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau in Poland last week where they visited a Jewish pre-war cemetery as well as two of the Auschwitz camps. The experience was extremely moving and emotional.
Now they will begin their Next Steps project where they will work to bring the message of the programme to a wider audience.
