Day out in Durham

Some of our Year 12 Students joined students from others sixth forms and collects  to explore Durham University before the Easter holidays as part of our University preparation support.  We enjoyed a peaceful campus tour as we discovered the long breaks that University students have between semesters. We were taken on a tour of Durham university buildings and gained insight into the learning and social facilities on offer. Students were given guidance on how to build up experience and knowledge to make them stand out on applications to Russell Group Universities and saw the college system first hand with a tour of one of 17 colleges that accommodate students at Durham University. We were supported by current university students throughout, including a Southmoor Alumni who is about to embark on his PHD, a really inspiring and interesting day.
